Yes, I have returned from the land of maple syrup, hockey, and free band aids (none of which I had any encounter with, actually...)

So, I had an excellent time hanging out with ~Triddy ~Rogue-White-Dragon ~Silver-Strider ~tompkinsxx and their friend whose dA I'm not entirely sure of... anyway, 'twas excellent to see them all again!

I visited UBC and SFU while I was up there and, to be honest, I don't think I'll be moving to canada any time soon... I love the idea of being canadian, but the campuses were just HUGE and I don't think I'd survive.

now for the big news: on our way out of UBC, we got rear ended by a huge car and now the back of our car is all nicely smashed up. My dad and I both have pretty bad whiplash, but my mom's okay... stupid mom for sitting on the right side of the car...

anyway, I'm gonna spend the next few days recuperating and doing all the HW I failed to do.

So, I just realized I totally missed my own 6000 PV moment, and so figured I'd do a kiriban for 6666, 'cause it's such a terribly evil number+one more digit. So, keep an eye out for some 6s! (yes, I'm aware that I still owe ~Momeiji her kiriban prize from 5k and I'll get to it soon, I promist)

in other news, I decided to do NaNoWriMo this year, although I decided it a bit late and I'm now a week behind. I'm really excited about my novel, which I haven't been about any of my writing for a while, so that's a good sign! I might post some of it up here for some critique (and then probably take it down rather quickly). Right now, my biggest road block is not knowing what my characters look like. I usually create characters and then for a plot around them. However, that often results in characters that don't really have much of a role, but that I'm still attached to. This time I came up with the plot and created characters to fit the plot. It's SO much easier this way! I'll be writing along and all of a sudden I'll be like "oh hey, I need some grumpy politicians" and poof! I stick in some grumpy old folks. ~Momeiji's been kind enough to offer to do some concept art of my characters and the design of their clothing, so hopefully that will help!

So, to give you an idea of what my story's about, because I'm sure you're all so very interested to hear about it, I based it rather loosely on the story of Cleopatra and her struggle to keep the throne of Egypt. So my story deals with the consequences of being overly ambitious and the inner workings of an easily corruptible government in a misogynistic society. I know, very vague, but I wouldn't want to give anything away, now would I?

anyway, enough of me. Go on, get back to your lives. Do something productive.

So, as many of you may have noticed, I don't actually upload anything except cosplay pictures. Well, that's just kinda the way it's gonna be, since I don't draw and my writing... well, let's just say I'm not sure I want to put it up on the internet at this point, since I've heard that a lot of publishing companies won't accept your work if it's online. So, cosplay pics is what you'll be getting and at that, only a few times a year (since I only go to a few cons and spontaneous photoshoots are rare). So, just a heads up to anyone who's watching me that doesn't know me IRL...

For those who care about my life (i.e. none of you) here's an update:

Most of you won't understand what I'm talking about here (and I promise to explain it in a second...), but for the one person who will... I GET TO BE IN RITUAL!!!!!!!!!!! So, Ritual's a sort of... legendary dance in Donna's studio. it's kinda like Juma or the Indian dance. Well, it's only 6 parts, but we convinced Donna to do shared parts, and I get to be in it! I dunno who I'm sharing a part with yet, but I guess I'll find out next week. In other dance news... I dislocated my shoulder... yay life!

Cosplaywise, Sakuracon's the next con on my docket and it's not until april, so I don't have much to worry about. I should probably get a move on on costumes, but I've got some wiggle room. I'm planning to do Ritsu from K-ON, Cornelia from Code Geass and Yuan from ToS (YAY SERAPHIM GROUP!).

um... I just ate a whole jar of nutella and now I feel sick, so i should probably go deal with that by vomiting my intestines...

...although it had barely begun... I'm talking, of course, about colleges.

I thought it would be a lengthy and grueling process, trying to find the right school. I thought maybe I wanted to stay home and just go to OSU, or maybe I wanted to move to Canada and become a CANADIAN (still kinda want to do that, but it can wait...) but upon arriving on campus in the dreary town of Monmouth, I felt at home. It just seemed perfect.

So, looks like that's where I'll be going at this point. I still plan to visit other colleges just in case, but at this point WOU is my first choice. It's funny, I've always thought I'd go there since I was little, and then for a brief amount of time last year I opened up to new ideas, but in the end I settled on the same decision.

So, sorry ~Momeiji and *1000th, I won't be rooming with you. Our terrific trio would've been, well, terrific, but I suppose you'll have to survive without me. On the brightside, I'll be rooming with ~SerikaArenai and it seems like we'll have a pretty excellent time in our video game fort and so on.

So, off to go fill out those applications, I guess!
